The right tools for the job. Make sure you have the tools required to build your motorcycle, you can easily get a good set at your local Sears or Home Depot. You can also consider borrowing tools from friends should need a special tool for specific tasks. Your tool set is an investment  in both building and maintaining your motorcycle, and quality tools will last a lifetime.

Make a build plan. Decide on a style of motorcycle you want to build and create a build sheet to guide you through each stage of your build. Inexperienced builders should consider purchasing a building blueprint to aid in guiding you through each step of the build process. Part of your plan is getting all of the parts necessary for your project. Make sure you research parts and prices before you make any purchases.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you run into problems or issues, ask a friend for help. This will make it easier to work through small issues or problems. Remember to take your time to avoid making costly mistakes. Part of the building process is having fun while you build your new motorcycle.
